CHRIST, WHOSE GLORY FILLS THE SKIES - by Charles Wesley , 1707-1788
Public Domain

Christ, whose glory fills the skies,
Christ, the true, the only Light,
Sun of Righteousness, arise,
Triumph o'er the shades of night;
Day-spring from on high, be near;
Day-star, in my heart appear.

Dark and cheerless is the morn
Unaccompanied by thee;
Joyless is the day's return,
Till thy mercy's beams I see;
Till they inward light impart,
Glad my eyes, and warm my heart.

Visit then this soul of mine,
Pierce the gloom of sin and grief;
Fill me, Radiancy Divine,
Scatter all my unbelief;
More and more thyself display,
Shining to the perfect day.

The Lord's Prayer

Our Father, who art in heaven,
hallowed be thy Name,
thy kingdom come,
thy will be done,
on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread.
And forgive us our trespasses,
as we forgive those who trespass against us.
And lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil.
For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory,
for ever and ever. Amen.

I believe in God, the Father Almighty,
Maker of heaven and earth:
And in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord;
Who was conceived by the Holy Spirit;
Born of the Virgin Mary,
Suffered under Pontius Pilate,
Was crucified, dead, and buried;
He descended into hell;
The third day he rose again from the dead;
He ascended into heaven
And sitteth at the right hand of God the Father Almighty;
From thence He shall come to judge the quick and the dead.
I believe in the Holy Spirit;
The holy catholic church; *
The communion of saints;
The forgiveness of sins;
The resurrection of the body;
And the life everlasting.

Amen.

* Note: "catholic church" here means the entire body of
believers in Christ, not just one particular church.

Our Mystical Union With Christ is the state in which the believer is "in
Christ" and Christ is "in the believer." This is what Jesus means when He
says, "In that day you will know that I am in my Father, and you in me,
and I in you." (John 14:20) and "Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch
cannot bear fruit by itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can
you, unless you abide in me. I am the vine, you are the branches. He who
abides in me, and I in him, he it is that bears much fruit, for apart from
me you can do nothing." (John 15:4-5)

NOTE: "Abide in me, and I in you." means "Live in me, and I in you."
This refers to the actual spiritual presence of Christ inside us, as well
as our actual spiritual presence inside Him. This mutual indwelling of His
Spirit in us and our spirit in Him occurs when we freely choose to accept
Him, inviting Him into our lives as our personal Lord and Saviour. As He
says . . .

"Behold, I stand at the door and knock; if any one hears
my voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and eat
with him, and he with me." (Revelation 3:20)

You can do this here and now by following the instructions at
http://www.loveallpeople.org/jesusdirect.html

The Apostle Paul confirms that Jesus actually lives within His believers,
when he says . . .

"I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live,
but Christ who lives in me; and the life I now live in the
flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and
gave himself for me." (Galatians 2:20)

SCRIPTURAL REFERENCES TO "IN CHRIST"
"Faith in Christ" is mentioned six times in the Bible.
"Faith in Christ"
Bible, Revised Standard Version
6 matches.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Acts.24
[24] After some days Felix came with his wife Drusil'la, who was a
Jewess; and he sent for Paul and heard him speak upon faith in Christ
Jesus.
Gal.2
[16] yet who know that a man is not justified by works of the law but
through faith in Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Christ Jesus, in
order to be justified by faith in Christ, and not by works of the law,
because by works of the law shall no one be justified.
Phil.3
[9] and be found in him, not having a righteousness of my own, based on
law, but that which is through faith in Christ, the righteousness from
God that depends on faith;
Col.1
[4] because we have heard of your faith in Christ Jesus and of the love
which you have for all the saints,
Col.2
[5] For though I am absent in body, yet I am with you in spirit,
rejoicing to see your good order and the firmness of your faith in
Christ.
2Tim.3
[15] and how from childhood you have been acquainted with the sacred
writings which are able to instruct you for salvation through faith in
Christ Jesus.

And we know that believing in Him is the main requirement for becoming a
Christian and obtaining eternal salvation, as shown in John 3:16 and
Romans 10:9, below:
"For God so loved the world that he gave his only Son, that whoever
believes in him should not perish but have eternal life." - John 3:16
(RSV)
"because, if you confess with your lips that Jesus is Lord and
believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be
saved." - Romans 10:9 (RSV)

(Note that "believing in Him" not only means "believing that Jesus
existed" or "believing that everything He said is true," but also means
accepting Him as your own personal Lord and Saviour, and relying on Him
constantly for your guidance, protection, and support - that is, having
faith in Him.)
But there are more than eighty Biblical references to "in Christ" which do
not mention either faith in Him or belief in him, but simply "in Christ."
So what does "in Christ" really mean" And why is it mentioned so
frequently in the Bible?

The words "in Christ" mean that the believer is in a state of mystical
union with Christ, in which the believer is "in Christ" and Christ is "in
the believer." This is what Jesus meant when he said . . . "In that day
you will know that I am in my Father, and you in me, and I in you." (John
14:20) and "Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit by
itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in
me." (John 15:4)

NOTE: "Abide in me, and I in you." means "Live in me, and I in you."

And the reason these words appear so frequently in the Bible is that the
early Christians must have considered this mystical union with Christ to
be perhaps the most important part of their Christian life!

So here are all of the Biblical refences to "in Christ,"not including
references to "faith in Christ." All of these cases refer to Our Mystical
Union With Christ.

Bible, Revised Standard Version
More than 80 cases of "in Christ," not including references to "faith in
Christ."

which was given you in Christ Jesus,
[30] He is the source of your life in Christ Jesus, whom God made our

[17] For we are not, like so many, peddlers of God's word; but as men of
sincerity, as commissioned by God, in the sight of God we speak in
Christ.
2Cor.5
[17] Therefore, if any one is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old

counting their trespasses against them, and entrusting to us the message
of reconciliation.
2Cor.12
[2] I know a man in Christ who fourteen years ago was caught up to the
third heaven -- whether in the body or out of the body I do not know,
God knows.
[19] Have you been thinking all along that we have been defending
ourselves before you? It is in the sight of God that we have been
speaking in Christ, and all for your upbuilding, beloved.
Gal.2
[4] But because of false brethren secretly brought in, who slipped in to
spy out our freedom which we have in Christ Jesus, that they might bring
us into bondage --
[17] But if, in our endeavor to be justified in Christ, we ourselves
were found to be sinners, is Christ then an agent of sin? Certainly not!
Gal.3
[14] that in Christ Jesus the blessing of Abraham might come upon the
Gentiles, that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith.
[26] for in Christ Jesus you are all sons of God, through faith.

blessed us in Christ with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly

[9] For he has made known to us in all wisdom and insight the mystery of
his will, according to his purpose which he set forth in Christ

[20] which he accomplished in Christ when he raised him from the dead
and made him sit at his right hand in the heavenly places,

Jesus.
2Tim.1

in Christ Jesus ages ago,
[13] Follow the pattern of the sound words which you have heard from me,
in the faith and love which are in Christ Jesus;

[8] Accordingly, though I am bold enough in Christ to command you to do
what is required,
[20] Yes, brother, I want some benefit from you in the Lord. Refresh my

[16] and keep your conscience clear, so that, when you are abused, those
who revile your good behavior in Christ may be put to shame.
1Pet.5
[10] And after you have suffered a little while, the God of all grace,
who has called you to his eternal glory in Christ, will himself restore,
establish, and strengthen you.
[14] Greet one another with the kiss of love. Peace to all of you that
are in Christ.

Here is an excellent article by Frederica Mathewes-Green which adds more

You, too, can have this Mystical Union With Christ (if you don't already
have it), by following the instructions at
http://www.loveallpeople.org/jesusdirect.html

Here is a typical prayer you can pray to accept Him . . .

"Lord Jesus, I give myself to You, for You to be my only Lord and Saviour.
I renounce and repudiate all other loyalties, and I desire no other Lord
but You. Please come into me and take control of my life. Mold me to Your
will and to Your use. I ask that You drive out all other spirits which
conflict with You in any way. I want to belong only to You, to be subject
only to You. I make this prayer to You, in Your name, the name of Jesus.
Amen."

Poem
"All The Way My Saviour Leads Me," - by Fanny J. Crosby
ALL THE WAY MY SAVIOUR LEADS ME - by Fanny J. Crosby, 1875
- Public Domain -

All the way my Saviour leads me;
What have I to ask beside?
Can I doubt His faithful mercies,
Who through life has been my guide?
Heav'nly peace, divinest comfort,
Here by faith in Him do dwell;
For I know whate'er befall me,
Jesus doeth all things well.

All the way my Saviour leads me,
Cheers each winding path I tread;
Gives me strength for every trial,
Feeds me with the living bread.
Though my weary steps may falter,
And my soul athirst may be,
Gushing from the Rock before me,
Lo, a spring of joy I see.

All the way my Saviour leads me,
O the fullness of His love!
Perfect rest to me is promised,
In my Father's house above;
When my spirit, clothed immortal,
Wings its flight to realms of day,
This my song through endless ages:
"Jesus led me all the way."

Exhortation
Follow The Lord, As He Leads.
This is from a letter I wrote in reply to a question.
Follow the Lord As He Leads!
Hello xxx,

Thank you for the honor of asking my advice! I really don't know much
about xxxxx, but I do know that the Lord will lead you STEP-BY- STEP to
where He wants you to go. The secret is you must obey Him in the little
things, and then He will give you more and more. Sometimes (usually) it
doesn't make sense to you, what He is doing. You won't see the picture
until all the pieces are complete. THEN you will say, "Oh! Now I
understand why He did THAT!"

So how do you obey Him? How does He communicate to you? Sometimes He does
NOT communicate directly to you. In this case, do the best you can to obey
His will as you find it expressed in the Bible. At the very least, obey
the ten commandments plus the "Love the Lord thy God with all thy heart
and love thy neighbor as thyself" commandment. Then try to cultive the
"Fruits of the Spirit." Try to be gentle, humble, slow to anger, quick to
forgive, patient, meek, grateful. Ask Him to be with you, tell Him you
love Him, tell Him that His love is more important to you than anything
else. Pretty soon, He will make Himself known to you personally.

Be sensitive to that, listen for His distinctive voice. Then, do whatever
He tells you to do, whether you understand "why" or not. Now, imposters
(the evil one, you know) will try to confuse you with false messages. So
recognize that the Lord will never tell you to do something that is
contrary to scripture. So the Bible is your safeguard in this matter.
Also, an imposter spirit will choke on his own tongue before he can utter
the words "I know and declare that Jesus Christ is the risen Son of God
and Saviour of the world." So if the voice that is speaking to you refuses
to declare Jesus as Son of God, then do not listen to it.

One more word. Let HIM lead you, not yourself. Make yourself available to
Him in any way He wants, then let Him tell you what to do.

Each of us must submit to something, even if it is only death. So why not
go as high as you can go? Give yourself TOTALLY to the Lord, and let Him
use you any way He wants. Don't question Him at all, once you are sure it
is Him speaking. He is quite loving and reasonable, and He usually treats
you better than you could have thought up for yourself!

May God bless you in your walk with Him.

Yours in Christ, Bill McGinnis

Prayer For You
"Go Ahead And Give Yourself To Christ"

NOTE: When you read this prayer, try to imagine hearing my voice as I
speak it to you. In this way, the prayer is reactivated, and it
the same as if I were actually praying for you at that moment.
(Just like television prayers are reactivated when you watch
them, although the videotape may have been shot years before.)

Perhaps you are a Christian even now,
You go to church and try to do your best,
You try to put His teachings in your life,
But still you do not feel that He is yours.
You do not feel the closeness that you crave.
If this is you, then say this prayer with me:
* * *
O Lord, I want you closer in my life,
I want you more to be a part of me.
I want the best relationship with you,
That anyone on earth could ever have.
I know that, "as we give, we shall receive,"
And so I now do give myself to you,
In full completeness, holding nothing back.
I'm yours, so you may use me as you will,
And take whatever things you want from me.
And now that I did give myself to you,
I pray that you will give yourself to me,
As bridegroom gives himself to his new bride.
In Jesus' holy name I pray, Amen.

Benediction

I pray the Lord that He will lead your path
Away from the temptations all around.
I pray that when temptation lingers near,
The Lord will lead you not into its reach.
But if temptation grabs you as you pass,
I pray the Lord that you will struggle free.
In Jesus' holy name I pray, Amen.

Blessings to you in Jesus Christ our Lord.
