Fox News and others falsely claim conservative meeting at "Mount Vernon Estate" using Mount Vernon's name to promote their agenda.

Dear Political Readers:

Fox News and others falsely claim conservative meeting at "Mount Vernon Estate"
using Mount Vernon's name to promote their agenda.

Here's what I found just now by searching Google News for Mount Vernon
Estate . . .

Conservatives Come Together at Mount Vernon
FOXNews - Ken Klukowski - .18 hours ago.
Their declaration was unveiled on February 17 at George Washington's Mount
Vernon estate.
The resulting Mount Vernon Statement is subtitled .Constitutional ...

I looked deeper and found out the real location of the meeting was the
Collingwood Library and Museum of Americanism, a private, not-for-profit
corporation located a few miles from Mount Vernon Estate, on property once
owned by George Washington, but not presently associated with Mount Vernon
Estate at all.

Several related video links are shown, and if you click on some of them you
find a George-Washington-costumed character, which to me shows they
deliberately intended to misrepresent their actual location as Mount Vernon
itself, and thereby add legitimacy to their harmful right-wing agenda.

Thought you should know right away, as soon as I noticed it.

Yours,
